An aluminum busbar refers to a shared path where multiple devices are connected in parallel branches. In a computer system, it refers to a shared high-speed path connecting multiple computers in parallel, used for data transmission between these computers, but only one device can send data at a time.

An aluminum busbar trunking consists of a system composed of a metal plate (steel plate or aluminum plate) as a protective shell, conductive bars, insulating materials, and related accessories. It can be made into standard-length segments with plug-in junction boxes at intervals, or it can be made into a power-feeding enclosed aluminum busbar without junction boxes in the middle, which brings benefits to power supply, installation, and maintenance.

According to the development of insulation methods, aluminum busbar trunking has gone through three generations: air-plug aluminum busbar trunking, solid insulation plug aluminum busbar trunking, and high-strength composite insulation plug aluminum busbar trunking.

Aluminum busbars have high current density, low resistance, and low skin effect, and no capacity reduction is needed. Low pressure drop means low energy loss, saving users investment. For cables, because the cable core is made of multiple thin copper wires, its root area is larger than the root area of an aluminum busbar with the same current level. And its“Skin effect” is serious, reducing the rated current, increasing the pressure drop, and easily generating heat. The line energy loss is large, and it is easy to age.

The metal enclosed shell of the aluminum busbar trunking protects the aluminum busbar from mechanical damage or animal damage. Installing plugs in the power distribution system is safe. The shell can be grounded as a whole, and the grounding is very reliable. CablePVC shells are easily subject to mechanical damage, and the power should be cut off when installing cables. If there is a mistake, it will be very dangerous.
