Busbars are enclosed metal devices made of copper and aluminum busbars, used to distribute high power to various components of a distributed system. They feature a series of matching components, commercial production, small size, large capacity, short design and construction cycle, easy installation and removal, non-combustibility, safety and reliability, and a long service life.
Busbar Trunking: Basic Introduction
Busbar trunking is an enclosed metal device consisting of copper and aluminum busbars, used to distribute relatively high power to various components of a distributed system. It features a series of matched components, mass production, small size, large capacity, short design and construction cycle, easy installation and removal, non-combustibility, safety and reliability, and a long service life.
Busbar trunking is widely used in high-rise buildings, factories, and other electrical equipment and power systems. Compared with traditional cable transmission methods, busbar trunking has lower impedance, better heat dissipation performance, and higher current carrying capacity.
Busbar trunking can be classified in the following ways:
① Classification by Insulation Method
(Air Type Busbar Trunking)
It maintains a certain air gap between conductors as insulation. This type of busbar trunking has a relatively simple structure and lower cost, but its heat dissipation performance is generally lower, and the protection level is also relatively low. For example, it may be used in small factory workshops where the requirements for protection and heat dissipation are not high.
(Insulated Busbar Trunking)
Conductors are closely arranged, and high-performance insulating materials are used to separate the conductors from each other. It has good heat dissipation performance, strong current-carrying capacity, and a high protection level. It is often used in large commercial buildings, high-rise office buildings, and other places with high power demand and high safety requirements.
(High-Strength Busbar Trunking)
It has excellent insulation performance and mechanical strength, and can adapt to complex working environments and large mechanical stress. It is used in some special industrial environments, such as places with strong vibration or impact.
② Classification by Outer Shell Material
(Steel Shell Busbar Trunking)
It has high mechanical strength and impact resistance, and can provide good protection. It is often used in industrial sites with high protection requirements, such as places where there is a high possibility of external mechanical collisions.
(Aluminum Shell Busbar Trunking)
It is relatively lightweight and has good corrosion resistance. It is more suitable for places with weight requirements or corrosive environments, such as seaside buildings.
(Aluminum-Magnesium Alloy Shell Busbar Trunking)
It has high strength, light weight, and good corrosion resistance, with excellent comprehensive performance, but the cost is relatively high. It is often used in special occasions with high performance requirements.
③ Classification by Number of Conductors
(Three-Phase Three-Wire Busbar Trunking)
It contains three phase wires and is suitable for some three-phase balanced loads that do not require a neutral wire.
(Three-Phase Four-Wire Busbar Trunking)
It consists of three phase wires and one neutral wire, which can meet the needs of most three-phase loads and some single-phase loads.
(Three-Phase Five-Wire Busbar Trunking)
In addition to three phase wires and one neutral wire, it also includes one ground wire, providing more complete grounding protection and higher safety.
④ Classification by Applications
(Lighting Busbar Trunking)
Specifically designed for lighting systems, with smaller current, generally used for lighting circuits in shopping malls and supermarkets.
(Power Busbar Trunking)
Mainly used to provide power for various power equipment, such as motors and fans, with large currents. Commonly used in factory production equipment power supply lines.
⑤ Classification by Fire Prevention Performance
(Ordinary Busbar Trunking)
Does not have fire prevention performance.
(Fire-Resistant Busbar Trunking)
Using special fire-resistant materials and structural design, it can prevent the spread of fire for a certain period of time and ensure power supply. It is usually used in places with high fire prevention requirements, such as evacuation passages in high-rise buildings.
⑥ Classification by Structural Form
(Straight Busbar Trunking)
Simple structure, transmitting electricity in a straight line.
(L-shaped Busbar Trunking)
Used at line bends.
(T-shaped Busbar Trunking)
Used at line branches.
Different types of busbar trunking have their own characteristics and applicable scenarios. In practical applications, it is necessary to choose according to specific power needs, environmental conditions, and safety requirements.
