The following are the installation steps for high-density busbars:
① Pre-installation preparation
Familiarize yourself with the construction drawings, clarifying the busbar's route, installation location, and connection method;
Check the site conditions, ensuring the installation area is clean, dry, free of obstacles, and has sufficient operating space;
Prepare the necessary installation tools and equipment, such as cranes, scaffolding, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.;
Inspect the busbars and accessories after unpacking, verifying that the Specification, Model, and quantity are consistent with the design requirements, and checking for any damage, deformation, or dampness;
The reserved holes and embedded parts in the floor slab and walls should be pre-embedded and reserved according to the design requirements. The inter-spaced support plates should be securely installed, and the insulation measures for the segmented outer casing should be in place.
② Measurement and positioning
According to the construction drawings, use measuring tools to determine the installation centerline and elevation of the busbar on-site, and make markings;
Consider the location and reserved length of the busbar's expansion joints to ensure that the installed busbar can adapt to the expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes.
③ Bracket fabrication and installation
According to the weight and installation location of the busbar, fabricate suitable brackets. The brackets can be made of angle steel, channel steel, etc.;
Bracket installation should be firm and reliable, with spacing conforming to design requirements. Generally, the spacing between brackets should not exceed 2 meters for horizontal installation and 3 meters for vertical installation;
Brackets should be treated with anti-corrosion measures to ensure their service life.
④ Busbar splicing
Transport the busbar sections to the installation location and splice them according to the serial number;
During splicing, ensure that the connecting surfaces of the busbar are clean, flat, free of debris, and oil;
Use bolts to securely connect adjacent busbar sections. The tightening torque of the bolts should meet product requirements.
⑤ Busbar installation
Use a crane or other lifting equipment to lift the spliced busbar and slowly place it on the brackets;
Adjust the position and levelness of the busbar so that its centerline coincides with the marked installation centerline, with a levelness deviation of no more than 2mm/m;
Install the busbar fixing clamps to secure the busbar to the brackets, preventing movement;
To ensure that the high-density busbar is not contaminated, the copper bar surfaces on the connecting parts and moving joints of all functional units of the high-density busbar must be cleaned, and the inside of the casing and insulators must be wiped clean before installation; no residue should remain;
The torque bolts at each connecting point of the high-density busbar casing need to be tightened with a torque wrench to ensure that each contact surface is well sealed;
When installing a high-density busbar, its overall structure should be horizontally and vertically aligned. When vertically installed, it should be at least 1.8m above the ground. When horizontally installed, the height from the ground should not be less than 2.2m, and additional brackets should be added at the bends of the busbar and where it connects to the plug-in box.
⑥ Connecting the busbar to the switchgear
Connect the incoming end of the busbar to the outgoing end of the switchgear. The connection method should meet the design requirements;
During connection, ensure good contact at the connection points and that the bolts are securely tightened;
When the terminal box and start box of the busbar are suspended, use brackets for fixing. For brackets on walls and ceilings, use two expansion bolts. Expansion bolts should be fitted with flat washers and spring washers. When the busbar passes vertically through the ceiling, use a channel steel for support and fixing on the bottom plate;
When a closed busbar crosses expansion or settlement joints of a building, measures should be taken to accommodate the movement of the building structure, preventing horizontal movement at the busbar connections causing breakage and affecting the normal power supply.
⑦ Grounding connection
According to the design requirements, ground the busbar casing. The grounding resistance should meet the standard requirements;
The grounding connection should be firm and reliable, avoiding loosening or poor contact.
⑧ Inspection and testing
After installation, conduct a comprehensive inspection of the busbar, including appearance inspection, connection tightness check, and grounding resistance test;
Use a megohmmeter to measure the insulation resistance of the busbar. The value should meet the product requirements;
Conduct a power-on test to check the running status of the busbar, ensuring no abnormal heating, noise, etc.
⑨ Site cleanup
After installation is complete and testing is passed, clean up debris and tools from the installation site, keeping the site clean;
It should be noted that during installation, relevant electrical installation standards and safe operating procedures should be strictly followed to ensure installation quality and construction safety.
